Hi and Welcome to Mayfield Lavender!

We are a 25 acre Soil Association accredited organic lavender farm located on the Surry Downs, less than 15 miles from Central London.  This area, including our filed, is the home of English Lavender.  Situated in Banstead, we border Mitcham, Carshalton and Sutton, which was the most prolific lavender growing area in the world during the 19th and 20th centuries.  Now we have revived Lavender growing on one of the original lavender fields so we are in essence bringing lavender home.  (For full directions please click on the link “How to find us”.) We are a family run business and growing lavender is our great passion.  When you visit our field you will understand as it is a fabulous sight when in blossum.  Our lavenders produce some of the finest oil you could wish for and we hope you will enjoy them.  You can find our oils, lavender bags and many more goodies for sale in our  Online Shop. We grow three Lavender varieties on our field.  We have two varieties of the richly colourful and sweet English Lavender and one variety of the profuse and strongly fragranced Dutch Lavender (or Lavandin).  For more information on this aspect of our farm please click on “Our Lavender Plants”.

 We decided to run a photography competition in 2007 and it was so successful we ran it again in the wet summer of 2008.  This was a challenge for our photographers but we got some really smashing entries and had many passionate discussions about the winning photograph.  Please log onto our section titled “Photography Competition” for more information.
