Mayfield Lavender invites local schools and nurseries to get creative and join this year’s Malice in Lavenderland Scarecrow Competition!

Bring your ideas to life, have fun, and showcase your masterpiece in The Pumpkin Patch, where this year we will be creating a mystical Halloween Trail based on Alice in Wonderland for everyone to enjoy.

Who can enter:
Local schools and nurseries – one scarecrow per school

How it works:
– Make a scarecrow using any materials you like (but please ensure it’s weatherproof).
– Bring your scarecrow to The Secret Garden by 30th October 2025.
– Scarecrows will be displayed for visitors to Malice in Lavenderland to enjoy.
– Visitors will vote for their favourite — winners announced on 1st November.

Prize: Trophy for the most creative and best Malice in Lavenderland themed scarecrow – an award you will want to win!

As the lavender season wraps up for this year, Mayfield is entering an important new phase, refreshing the land and preparing for the next growing cycle for part of the field. With hundreds of thousands of visitors welcomed over the last 2 decades, the farm has long been a destination for nature-lovers, families, and lavender fans from around the world. Now, a portion of the field is ready for renewal and we are inviting you to be part of the process.

Whether you’re here to learn something new, plant your own lavender, or simply observe a working farm in action, there’s plenty to see and do this month.

What You Can Do This Month at Mayfield

Propagation Station
Learn how to take cuttings from mature lavender plants. Our team will walk you through the process so you can grow your own at home.

Pot Your Legacy
Included with every entry — a lavender cutting to pot and take home!

Adopt-a-Plant – Grow a Legacy

Adopt a Plant

Be part of Mayfield’s future by adopting one of our new lavender plants.
For £5, you can:

• Leave Your Mark – Write a personal message of hope or remembrance on a biodegradable tag, and we will plant it beneath your adopted plant during our replanting phase.

• Legacy Board Recognition – Your name will be featured on our community Legacy Board at the farm, celebrating all those helping the next chapter bloom. You will see this next year.

• Receive seasonal photo updates as your adopted lavender grows.

1. Eligibility

This giveaway is open to UK residents aged 18 or over.
Entrants must reside within a 3-mile radius of the farm (postcode: SM7 EJA).
The selected winner must provide valid proof of address (e.g. utility bill, bank statement, official ID with address).
Employees or immediate family of the Promoter are not eligible.

2. How to Enter

Follow the instructions on the giveaway post (e.g. like, comment, tag a friend, follow the page).
Only entries received via Instagram before the deadline will be counted.
No purchase necessary.

3. Entry Period

The giveaway closes on 28th July at 12:00 PM (BST).
Any entries submitted after this time will not be valid.

4. Prize Details

The prize is as described in the Instagram post.
No cash alternative. The prize is non-transferable and non-exchangeable.
The winner must be able to visit the farm by 3rd August 2025 to redeem the prize.

5. Winner Selection & Notification

The winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries.
The winner will be contacted via Instagram Direct Message within 24 hours after the giveaway ends.
If the winner does not respond within 24 hours of being contacted, the Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner.

6. Proof of Eligibility

The winner must provide proof of address matching the 3-mile eligibility zone.
If this cannot be provided, the prize will be forfeited and another winner selected.

7. Data Protection

We’re delighted to announce that children under the age of 12 can now enjoy free entry to both Mayfield Lavender Farm in Banstead and the Mayfield Lavender Garden in Epsom – excluding the Sunset Special.

Come and visit us while the lavender is still in full bloom. Now it’s the perfect time to experience the magic!

Paella & Prosecco Evening 4th July

Join us for an exclusive evening in our gorgeous Lavender field for a truly Mediterranean experience on Thursday July 4th from 6.30pm until 9.30pm. Experience this special event with a blend of English Lavender, Spanish Paella and a glass of Italian Prosecco – throw in the setting sun over our gorgeous lavender field for the perfect evening.

Tickets include entry to the farm, free parking, a glass of Prosecco on arrival and a choice of chicken, seafood or vegetarian Paella freshly cooked in the field.

Book early to avoid disappointment.

The event location is Mayfield Lavender Farm, 1 Carshalton Road, Banstead, Surrey, SM7 3JA.

All good things come to an end! We are now closed until June 2025. The lavender has now lost its colour and is ready to be distilled into our lovely organic oil.

Thank you to everyone who visited us during the 2024 season! We appreciate your support and hope you had a wonderful experience.

We’re already looking forward to welcoming you back next season.

Our delightful Glasshouse gift shop, cafe and plant nursery at 139 Reigate Road, Epsom, KT17 3DW is open daily all year.
